Sports Medicine Association of Pakistan (SMAP)
The Sports Medicine Association of Pakistan (SMAP) incepted in 1989 was the brain child of Professor Dr. Nishat Mallick, it’s founding President. ince its inception, the Sports Medicine Association of Pakistan has been working with different organizations in disseminating the knowledge of sports medicine in specific and of general health related issues on a general perspective.
The Sports Medicine Association of Pakistan (SMAP) is the only recognized body representing the sports medicine fraternity in Pakistan and is registered with many national and international sports medicine bodies including the National Olympic Association namely Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), Pakistan Sports Board, Asian Federation of Sports Medicine (AFSM) and International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS).
The Sports Medicine Association of Pakistan (SMAP) has had the opportunity in serving the country at both domestic sporting events including the provincial and national games in different provinces and also its Doctors and Physiotherapists have served in contingents participating at different International Sporting events including the South Asian Federation (SAF) Games, South-East Asian Games (SEA) and the Olympic Games.
The Sports Medicine Association of Pakistan (SMAP) has continuously been involved in conducting seminars, congresses and workshops of international standards for doctors, physiotherapists, technicians, coaches, instructors and others at different forums, carrying forward its mission of spreading the knowledge of sports sciences and sports medicine.
